Ferct Professional Community Policies

Ferct Professional Community Policies

Welcome to Ferct, a goal achievement network operated by Skillsuper LTD, registered at 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, WC1N 3AX, United Kingdom. Ferct connects individuals and organizations to achieve their personal and professional aspirations through a social media network, marketplaces for products and services, an opportunities platform, resources (e.g., publications, AI tools, and curated website lists), and management systems. Our mission is to create a respectful, inclusive, and productive community where members can learn, grow, and collaborate to transform their goals into reality.

These policies outline the standards for fostering a professional and constructive environment on Ferct. They apply to all members, and violations may result in content moderation, visibility limitations, or account restrictions. If you believe an action on your content or account was in error, you can submit an appeal.

Core Principles

Ferct is a platform where members treat each other with respect and contribute constructively to help one another succeed. Content should align with our mission to inspire learning, skill development, opportunity discovery, and productive relationships. We aim to maintain a safe and professional space for all.

Reporting Abusive Content

If you encounter content that may violate our policies—whether in profiles, posts, messages, comments, or elsewhere—please report it using the three-dot icon in the upper right-hand corner of the content. Reports, combined with our automated systems and trained content reviewers, help us identify and address violations. Please use reporting tools responsibly and only for their intended purpose.

Community Standards

1. Promote Safe and Respectful Conversations

We strive to create a platform where every member feels safe and valued. Respectful interactions are the foundation of our community, fostering collaboration and mutual support to help users achieve their goals.

  • No Harassment or Bullying: Do not post content that targets individuals with personal attacks, intimidation, shaming, disparagement, or abusive language. This includes mocking someone’s appearance, beliefs, or professional qualifications. Do not share others’ personal or sensitive information (e.g., doxing, such as posting someone’s home address or private contact details) or encourage others to do so. Trolling, repetitive negative comments, or content designed to provoke or disrupt conversations is prohibited.
  • Respectful Disagreement: Constructive criticism of policies, or public figures (e.g., celebrities, or prominent business leaders) is permitted, provided it remains professional and avoids personal insults, vilification, or inflammatory language. For example, discussing a company’s public policy or a leader’s business decision is acceptable, but name-calling or derogatory remarks are not. Content raising awareness of abusive behavior is allowed if it focuses on objective reporting (e.g., documenting a public incident with evidence) rather than inciting harassment or targeting individuals.
  • Examples of Violations:
    • Posting derogatory comments about a member’s professional skills or personal characteristics.
    • Sharing a member’s private contact information without consent.
    • Repeatedly posting negative comments to provoke or disrupt a discussion thread.
  • Enforcement: Content violating these standards may be removed, labeled with a warning, or have its visibility limited to reduce its reach. Repeated or severe violations, such as targeted harassment campaigns, may result in temporary or permanent account restrictions. For example, a user who repeatedly posts abusive comments may have their account suspended for 30 days, with permanent bans for egregious cases.

2. Prohibit Violence and Harmful Content

Ferct is committed to maintaining a safe environment free from content that promotes or depicts violence, harm, or exploitation. We aim to protect our community from material that could cause distress or endanger safety.

  • No Threats or Incitement: Content that threatens, incites, or promotes violence, property damage, or organized criminal activity is strictly prohibited. This includes direct threats (e.g., “I will harm you”) or indirect incitement (e.g., encouraging others to commit violent acts). Support for individuals or groups engaging in such activities, including glorifying violence, is not allowed.
  • Contextual Exceptions: Content shared to raise awareness or condemn violence in connection with newsworthy events (e.g., military conflicts, protests, or natural disasters) may be removed rather than labeled with a sensitivity warning. For instance, a post discussing a documented conflict with the intent to educate are not allowed if it avoids graphic imagery or glorification. We may delete content and its distribution to protect users who prefer not to view such content.
  • No Exploitation of Children: We have zero tolerance for content depicting the sexual exploitation of children, including images, videos, or text that sexualizes minors. Such content is reported to the official organizations that protect children. Even non-sexualized child nudity (e.g., cultural or artistic images) is generally removed due to the risk of misuse by others. For example, a historical photo of a child in a non-sexual context may still be removed to prevent potential abuse.
  • No Harmful or Shocking Material: Content depicting extreme violence (e.g., graphic bodily injury or torture), promoting criminal activity (e.g., instructional weapon-making or drug abuse), or encouraging self-harm or suicide is prohibited. Sexual content or nudity, even in some cases it is directly relevant to professional discussions (e.g., medical or educational content) and non-gratuitous, is not allowed. For example, a medical professional discussing surgical procedures may include relevant imagery, but explicit content for shock value is removed.
  • Examples of Violations:
    • Posting a video glorifying a violent act or extremist group.
    • Sharing graphic images of injuries unrelated to educational purposes.
    • Promoting self-harm techniques or encouraging others to engage in dangerous behavior.
  • Enforcement: Violating content is removed immediately, and accounts may face restrictions. For instance, a user posting graphic violence may have their content removed and receive a warning or permanent ban, while repeated violations could lead to a permanent ban. Sensitive content shared for awareness may be removed or restricted in visibility.

3. Prohibit Illegal or Dangerous Transactions

Ferct prohibits content that facilitates or promotes illegal, dangerous, or exploitative transactions to ensure a safe and lawful platform for all users.

  • No Illegal Goods or Services: Do not promote, sell, or facilitate access to illegal or dangerous goods, such as weapons, firearms, recreational drugs, drug paraphernalia, prescription drugs (outside our Advertising Policies), alcohol, tobacco, human body parts, live animals, animal parts, gambling services, counterfeit items, pirated software, or forged documents. Content promoting fake educational or professional certifications, scraped member data, or proxy test-taking is also prohibited.
  • No Exploitation or Commercial Abuse: Do not engage in or promote human trafficking, exploitation, or criminal sex acts, including escort services, prostitution, or mail-order bride schemes. Monetizing or exploiting sensitive global events (e.g., famines, pandemics, or economic crises) for commercial gain is not allowed. Lotteries, sweepstakes, contests, or giveaways are prohibited unless explicitly authorized by Ferct’s advertising services.
  • Examples of Violations:
    • Posting a link to purchase illegal drugs or counterfeit goods.
    • Advertising escort services or promoting a lottery without authorization.
    • Selling scraped member data or fake academic certificates.
  • Enforcement: Content promoting illegal or dangerous transactions is removed, and accounts engaging in such activities may face immediate suspension or permanent bans. For example, a user offering to sell forged documents will have their account permanently restricted and content removed.

4. Prohibit Dangerous Organizations or Individuals

Ferct does not tolerate content or accounts associated with dangerous organizations or individuals, including those promoting violence or extremism, to ensure a safe and inclusive community.

  • No Support for Extremism: Terrorist organizations, violent extremist groups, or individuals affiliated with them are not permitted on Ferct. This includes non-state groups that identify as extremist, engage in or promote violence to further their cause, or target civilians. Content that depicts, promotes, or recruits for terrorist activities or glorifies violent extremism is prohibited.
  • Contextual Exceptions: Content shared to condemn or raise awareness about terrorist or extremist activities (e.g., a news article discussing a terrorist event to educate users) may be labeled with a sensitivity warning rather than removed. Distribution may be limited to protect users from potentially distressing material.
  • Examples of Violations:
    • Creating a profile for a known terrorist organization or individual.
    • Posting content that praises or recruits for a violent extremist group.
    • Sharing propaganda videos depicting terrorist acts.
  • Enforcement: Profiles or content associated with dangerous organizations or individuals are removed, regardless of whether they contain violative content. Accounts promoting such groups face permanent bans. For instance, a profile created to support an extremist group will be immediately deactivated.

5. Maintain Authenticity

Authenticity is critical to building trust and fostering genuine connections on Ferct. Members must represent themselves and their organizations accurately to maintain the platform’s integrity.

  • Use Your True Identity: Provide accurate and truthful information about yourself or your organization in your profile, including your name, qualificationsshe qualifications, work experience, and affiliations. Do not create fake profiles, impersonate others, or misrepresent your professional credentials (e.g., claiming a degree or job title you do not have). Using someone else’s image as your profile photo, creating profiles for others, or sharing your account with others is prohibited. For example, using a celebrity’s photo or creating a profile for a fictional person violates this policy.
  • No False or Misleading Content: Do not share content that is deceptive, misleading, or intended to manipulate. This includes manipulated media (e.g., deepfakes or altered videos) that depicts someone saying or doing something they did not, unless clearly disclosed as fictional or satirical (e.g., labeling a video as “edited for creative purposes”). False claims about health, such as misinformation about vaccine safety or medical treatments that contradict guidance from leading global health authorities (e.g., WHO or CDC), are prohibited. Content designed to improperly influence civic processes, such as elections or public referendums, is not allowed. Endorsements or promotions for personal benefit (e.g., monetary payment, free products, or personal relationships) must include a clear disclosure, such as “#Sponsored” or “Received compensation for this post.”
  • No Scams or Fraud: Do not engage in or promote scams, including phishing attempts, romance scams, pyramid schemes, or fraudulent investment opportunities. Sharing malicious software, such as malware or viruses, that harms members or the platform is strictly prohibited. Content raising awareness about scams is permitted, provided it does not include sensitive information (e.g., personal data of victims) or functional malicious links (e.g., active phishing URLs). For example, a post educating users about recognizing phishing emails is allowed, but sharing an active phishing link, even for awareness, is not.
  • Examples of Violations:
    • Creating a profile claiming to be a CEO of a company you are not affiliated with.
    • Posting a deepfake video of a public figure without disclosing it is manipulated.
    • Sharing a post claiming unproven health benefits of a product, contradicting WHO guidelines.
    • Sending messages promoting a pyramid scheme or phishing for personal information.
  • Enforcement: Fraudulent accounts or content are removed immediately. Known scammers or accounts engaging in deceptive practices face permanent restrictions. For example, a user creating a fake profile to impersonate a professional will have their account deactivated, and posts containing undisclosed sponsored content may be removed or labeled with a warning.

6. Avoid Hateful or Discriminatory Content

Ferct is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated, and discrimination is not tolerated. Content that promotes hatred or prejudice undermines our mission to create a supportive community.

  • No Hate Speech: Do not post content that attacks, denigrates, intimidates, dehumanizes, or incites hatred, violence, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics, including race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, age, or disability. This includes racial, religious, or other slurs, as well as content denying well-documented historical events. Hate groups, their symbols, or content promoting their ideologies are prohibited.
  • Contextual Exceptions: Content addressing prejudice or discrimination in a constructive manner, such as sharing personal experiences with racism or sexism, or engaging in counter-speech to challenge hateful behavior, may be labeled rather than removed. For example, a post discussing overcoming workplace discrimination may be allowed if it is respectful and constructive. Content that reclaims slurs or hateful rhetoric in a positive context (e.g., within a cultural or educational discussion) may also be labeled to provide context.
  • Examples of Violations:
    • Posting a comment using a racial slur to demean another member.
    • Sharing an article promoting a hate group’s ideology.
    • Denying a historically verified event like a genocide in a post.
  • Enforcement: Content violating this policy is removed, and accounts engaging in repeated or severe violations, such as targeted hate campaigns, face temporary or permanent restrictions. For instance, a user posting discriminatory content will have it removed and may receive a warning, with repeated offenses leading to a 30-day suspension or permanent ban.

7. Keep Interactions Professional

Ferct is a professional platform focused on goal achievement, not personal or romantic interactions. All interactions should align with our mission to foster productive and respectful relationships.

  • No Unwanted Advances: Do not send unsolicited expressions of attraction, sexual innuendos, or explicit content, including comments on someone’s appearance or perceived attractiveness. Ferct is not a dating platform, and such behavior undermines our professional environment. Jokes, memes, emojis, or symbols with overt sexual connotations or associated with sex acts are prohibited. For example, sending a message complimenting a member’s appearance in a suggestive manner or posting a meme with explicit sexual imagery violates this policy.
  • Examples of Violations:
    • Sending a private message with unsolicited sexual comments.
    • Posting a meme with explicit sexual imagery or innuendo.
    • Using emojis commonly associated with sexual connotations in a professional discussion.
  • Enforcement: Violating content is removed, and accounts may face restrictions, such as temporary suspensions for first offenses or permanent bans for repeated or egregious violations. For example, a user sending inappropriate messages will have their messages removed and may be suspended for 30 days.

8. Avoid Spam and Artificial Engagement

High-quality, relevant content is essential to meaningful conversations on Ferct. Spam and artificial engagement tactics disrupt the platform and diminish user experience.

  • No Spamming: Do not share untargeted, irrelevant, or repetitive content, such as promotional messages sent to users you do not know or excessive posting of similar content. Avoid using Ferct’s invitation feature to send unsolicited promotional messages. Content designed to artificially inflate engagement, such as emoji or reaction polls, chain letter-style posts (e.g., “Like and share to receive good luck”), or mutual agreements to like or re-share content, is prohibited.
  • Professional Content: Create original, relevant, and professional content that adds value to the community, such as insights, resources, or opportunities related to personal or professional growth. For example, sharing a well-researched article on career development is encouraged, while posting repetitive promotional links is not.
  • Examples of Violations:
    • Sending identical promotional messages to multiple users without prior connection.
    • Posting a poll with excessive emojis to boost engagement artificially.
    • Sharing a “chain letter” post encouraging users to like and re-share for no professional purpose.
  • Enforcement: Spam content may be removed or have its distribution limited to prevent cluttering the platform. Accounts engaging in repeated spamming may face restrictions, such as temporary suspension of posting privileges or permanent bans.

Prohibited Activities

  • Engage in Illegal or Unauthorized Purposes: Using the Services for any illegal activity or purpose not explicitly permitted by Ferct is strictly forbidden. This includes activities that violate local or international laws.
  • Share Unlawful or Harmful Content: Users are prohibited from posting, sharing, or transmitting content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, offensive, or infringes on the rights of others (e.g., intellectual property rights, privacy rights). This ensures that the platform remains a professional and respectful space.
  • Interfere with Systems: Attempting to gain unauthorized access to Ferct’s systems or interfering with the Services through methods such as hacking, distributing malware, or launching denial-of-service attacks is prohibited. This protects the platform’s infrastructure and user data.
  • Spamming or Phishing: Engaging in spamming, phishing, or other abusive activities, such as sending unsolicited messages or attempting to deceive users, violates the Terms. These restrictions prevent misuse that could harm users or degrade the platform’s functionality.
  • Use of Automated Tools: Using automated tools like bots or scrapers to access or collect data from the Services without Ferct’s express permission is forbidden. This ensures that data collection respects user privacy and platform policies.

Consequences of Violations: Ferct reserves the right to suspend or terminate a user’s account at its sole discretion if they violate these Terms. This enforcement mechanism allows Ferct to maintain a safe and compliant user community by addressing misuse promptly.

Our Commitment
